American Hairless Terrier Dogs breed or breeds

In build, the American Hairless Terrier is identical to the medium-sized Rat Terriers, from whom he is directly descended. The American Hairless is a well-muscled dog with a deep chest, strong shoulders, solid neck, and powerful legs. The ears are carried erect when the dog is alert and are called bat, similar to the Rat Terrier's.

Color: Any color except merle or albino

American Hairless Terriers are curious, lively, and playful. They are very loving and affectionate, and they make wonderful companions for everybody. They are a social breed and are friendly with most strangers, but they can also be territorial. The breed makes good watchdogs- even though they aren’t yappers like many other similar breeds. American Hairless Terriers should be supervised, as they are not good swimmers and are comparatively easily injured. They are intelligent, feisty, and courageous, and they are easily trained. They might break out in a sweat if scared or hot.

Basic Requirements: This indoor dog does well in smaller homes and apartments, but needs regular walks or playtime. Occasional bathing will help to keep the skin healthy.

The American Hairless Terrier is an exceptionally friendly companion, getting along well with children, other dogs, and even cats. American Hairless Terriers enjoy human companionship immensely and will enthusiastically share any activity with their owners. The hairless dogs require protection from the sun and winter cold weather. American Hairless Terriers should not be sparred during conformation judging.
