This breed was developed by crossing a variety of British terriers. A very sturdy working terrier, it was developed in Australia in the late 1800's. Called an Aussie, the small terrier is adept at killing vermin and rabbits. It makes a good companion because of it absolute loyalty. It is still a popular Australian companion pet.
