This is a scent hound used originally to hunt the rabbit and pheasant. This breed came from a mutation in the Bloodhound. A heavy body and short legs makes it a good tracker of rabbits. Today, the breed is a house dog and companion with a history of having a good disposition. It is usually a low key dog good with older people.
