The Afghan Hound is an eye catcher, by their exotic, luxuriant coats and aristocratic mien. They bond very well with their puckish humor to their owner and those they know well. Afghan Hounds can be quite open to fun with humor but to new people it takes time for them to let their guard down. The Afghan Hound enjoys doing what is asked of it, but sometimes reminds the owner it does have its own ideas. This popular breed is a good family companion and needs plenty of space and exercise.
