Unlike most terriers, this breed has a much longer body type. It was bred to hunt farm vermin such as rats and mice. Later it was used to work the fields as a hunter of rabbits. The modern Dandie is an excellent companion dog. A loving and affectionate dog, it enjoys playing with children. An extremely loyal dog, it makes for an excellent guard dog
