Belonging to the spitz group of Northern dogs, this breed was developed by the Inuit of the North Country. The Eskimo Dog has the ability to withstand severe weather. Often it is found below the snow in the morning. A tireless sled-dog, it can pull a sled all day. This is an independent breed not suited for life as a companion dog in a family setting.
