This breed has a warm feeling when touched. Some Aztecs thought this breed was close to the god of the dead. Some claimed this small hairless dog had healing abilities. This concept is still alive in Central America. The skin looks like elephant hide but is very soft. The Mexican Hairless is intelligent, quiet and sensitive. It is a fragile dog that needs special handling.
