Size: 22 to 24 inches 45 to 60 pounds
Coat: Dense, curly but not woolly
Color: Black, dark liver


This breed has a similar background as the Irish Water Spaniel and the Curly Coated Retriever. There is a great ability to hunt in severe weather and cold water. This makes it an excellent duck-hunting breed. When asked to be a companion dog, the Portuguese Water Dog adapts well to inside living.
