The Shar-Pei has been bred in China for centuries. They were used for hunting, herding, protection and competitive fighting. Today they are used as companion dogs. Shar-Pei puppies have excessive amounts of skin producing multiple folds over the entire body. Their strong personalities require obedience training and extensive socialization.
