Originally a working breed, the Corgi was used both in the field and as a ratter. Some were used as herding dogs for livestock. Today they make excellent house pets always loyal to their owners. With the courage of a much larger dog, they make good watch dogs. There are 2 breeds:the Pembroke and the Cardigan Corgis.
